These days, Internet connections are relatively fast that anyone can become self-taught and learn any profession: carpentry, medicine, plumbing, mechanics, styling, cooking … Just write in the search engine “how to do” and unimaginable and even absurd options appear: from how to strike a match to tips to survive a zombie apocalypse.

In the Digital Era, classrooms are online and textbooks are video tutorials. This is what is called e-learning or electronic learning, a new form of distance learning that allows the user to interact with educational material through an electronic device.

Brands are betting more and more on videos that help resolve everyday issues and focus on famous people, the so-called ‘influencers’, to carry out their marketing campaigns.

But nothing can surpass by Tia Freeman, a twenty-two-year-old American woman, who gave birth in a hotel room with the help of a Youtube video tutorial that explained the steps she should take: fill the bathtub with warm water, take a towel to bite and another to wrap the baby, choose a comfortable posture…

According to an article by Visual Capitalist, a Canadian media and news company, Youtube viewers world-wide watch 4.3 million videos in just one minute. Isaac Asimov could not imagine something like this when he said: “Self-education is, I firmly believe, the only kind of education there is.”
